The Winged Victory of Samothrace has been recently restored and replaced at the top of the stairs, in the Greec sculpture Gallery of Le Louvre.
A room in the Louvre shows us the mystery and history surrounding this statue we often reduce it to a simple winged and beheaded figure amidst a grand staircase.
You could discover the archaeological site of Samothrace, located in the northwest of the kingdom of Pergamum (now Turkey): a complex site which consists of many temples dedicated to the great gods of Samothrace. To ensure their fame, discovered a bas-relief is exposed, showing Agamemnon worshiping these gods one.
Well-designed cartels allow us to position the fragments of the Rotunda of Arsinoe, including vegetable friezes carved with talent. We even appreciate the presentation of pieces of wing, base, and hand carving a pattern, which leaves us to imagine the reconstruction of Victory.
